On-Campus Access to Cadence Tools
- UI Engineering computer labs have X2Go Clients installed on the desktops to remotely access the Linux servers. You may use the facilities in BEL 207 Lounge for logging into the servers.
- All students connect to the correspong server instance for their courses listed below using X2Go Client Installation.
- ECE 310 students connect to the server (ece-ece310.ece.uidaho.edu )
- ECE 41X/445 students connect to ENGR server (ece-ece410.ece.uidaho.edu)
- ECE 51X or Graduate students connect to ENGR server (ece-ecegrad.ece.uidaho.edu)
- Linux and Mac users can use ssh instead of the X2Go client. They can do this using the command
ssh -XY [username]@ece-ece410.ece.uidaho.edu
OR
ssh -XY [username]@ece-ece410.ece.uidaho.edu
PS:
- If you are connecting through a personal laptop through the UI wireless connection, make sure you Vandal Gold connection for better quality link, and use the VPN as advised by the UI IT.

Always keep saving your files while you work and take regular backups. It is recommended that you take FTP backups (e.g. using Filezilla) from the server on your personal machine (or mail to yourself) in order to avoid losing data during server crashes.
